Jornadas Taurinas Norteamericanas
A Taurine Collaboration between Chicago and New York

Jornadas Taurinas is an annual series of taurine lectures and exhibits in Chicago and New York featuring a leading taurine critic, author or other person of high, recognized achievement in the taurine world.

Founded by Guillermo Cannon and Chicago Tauromachy in Chicago in 2003, the New York City Club Taurino joined as a co-sponsor in 2004. This extraordinary series of taurine events is also supported by the Club Taurino of Chicago and the Peña Taurina 'Los Toriles', and as well as generous donations from Lydia Ackerman, Dr. Anibal Pepper and Mr. And Mrs. John Tibensky. In Chicago, Jornadas Taurinas is presented in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago.

In 2007, Jornadas Taurinas is honored with the presence of Maestro Vicente Barrera Simó, grandson of the Maestro Vicente Barrera Cambra.

Other information of time changes and entrance fee to museum

There will be a slight adjustment to the time on Sunday, Jan 21, at the Hemingway Museum. You could still arrive at 2 PM, as stated on the program, if you wish to see the museum. Torero Vicente Barrera will arrive at 3 PM, a half hour later than originally announced, to perform the toreo de salon.

Please be advised that there is an entrance fee to the Hemingway Museum on Sunday, Jan 21. (I think it's $5 per person.) Non-alcoholic beverages with be served.

Attached are two articles, one in Spanish and another in English, about Vicente Barrera. The one in Spanish is from Aplausos. The one in English is written by someone obviously without any knowledge about tauromaquia and isn't necessarily accurate, but still sheds some light on the character of Vicente Barrera.
