I am currently working on a project for my university degree about the future of bullfighting in Spain and Portugal. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me - What gave you the idea to create bloodless bullfighting? What does the rejoneo use instead of a banderilla? (I have only seen bullfights in Spain and Portugal) Are there many places in California offering this? Is it popular among the general public? Do you believe this to be the future of bullfighting in Spain and Portugal too? I thank you very much in anticipation, Yours sincerely, Leila

1. It is part of our culture and we wanted to find a way where we could do bullfighting here in the U.S. legally.

2. It is still a banderilla, but with a velcro tip instead of a small barb like in portugal or spain and on the bull has the other side of velcro on the withers.

3. Only one place in sothern california (Artesia) and about 6 places in central california. We have about 30 bullfights a year in california.

4. It could be in Portugal, because they do not kill the bull in Portugal. In spain no, because they kill the bull in Spain.

Thank you very much for your interest,
Raul
